Trojan Minimotore Mini Motor. Does anyone remember them??

As a schoolboy I had a bike and one day a lad offered me his Trojan Minimotore for a few quid. I think they may have been license built from Solex.

This device was a tiny 2 stroke engine that could be lowered onto the rear tyre of your bike. Drive was by a knurled roller directly onto the tyre.

I remember ripping tyres to shreds with the thing before I got stopped by Mr Plod who pointed out that my home made motorbike was a motor vehicle and needed number plates etc.

 

This was long ago. I just wondered if anyone else had come across them, owned one or had any bits.

 

I would dearly love to get hold of one for nostalgia along with an endless supply of rear tyres.
