iansheff
Does anyone know the best place to park near the M1, I am meeting a colleague tomorrow and car sharing down to Birmingham. I have driven up to the lay by up on the A57 near Hardwick village and they have double yellow lines down on the short bit of road that goes nowhere, and the lay by across the road has limited waiting time. Any ideas would be welcome.

There are no signs to say no pedestrians allowed. I live in Aston and have walk down that route many a time sometimes on the verge or on the wide-ish central grassy reservation. iansheff
Thanks, thats the lay by just after the Barlborough village road going up from Renishaw isn't it?
andyofborg
can't you get him to pick you up at home or from somewhere like meadowhall park and ride? i would have thought that if you leave your car in the middle of nowhere you stand a good chance of having less car to take home with you than you started with. sares67
if the layby at jct 30 (barlborough) has no spaces, just go up to the roundabout, third exit, hotel, macdonalds, KFC, loads of parking there.
