Another reason to legalise drugs

Recommended Posts

We don't hang people anymore.....

Why not try and come up with a solution that actually might save a few lives?

Execute the drug dealers (whose lives are of no value, save a destructive, negative value they are to society), and the lives of the kids they groom from soft to hard drugs will be saved. As will those of plenty of other fools who use illegal drugs and think they're clever for doing so.

Rather than legalise drugs, why not get serious with justice for drug dealers: first offence > hanging. Problem soon reduced to a manageable level.

Hang the owners of spa if.that's the case, they peddle the most damaging drug of all.

It's not so much about the lack of punishment rather we don't have the resources to catch the key dealers in the first place. We may catch the odd small timer here and there, but in the scheme of things it's pathetic. It's the drugs cartels, who have the arms, capital, lawyers and sophistication to work around the law that criminalisation can't touch. Cartels are empowered by the criminalisation of drugs because the prices go up > competition goes down > the cartel gets rich and powerful > the cartel finds ever more sophisticated means to circumvent the law.

Is this another post designed to stimulate outrageous comments. It is a good stunt and I would support the legalisation if we were to levy a nice juicy tax to raise revenue. The more mugs the better if they want to pay yet another voluntary regressive tax;it means I shall have a lower tax burden to bear. And I hope these drugs can be consumed only in licensed premises and kept well away from respectable communities-perhaps a few industrial units near Meadowhall could do the job.

Do you eat cake?

Does that make you a mug for paying the tax on it? Or does it just mean that you choose to indulge in a bit of cake and pay the price that is required?

Because that doesn't work at all, it does nothing to reduce drug use, and will increase the rate of violent crime, because then drug dealers will have an incentive to murder policemen rather than be caught.

It's a monumentally stupid solution.
