Yiderlier
Hi all, I am looking to take my girlfriend away to the countryside in February. I really want to take her to a country pub type place with really nice rooms. There is a really nice one in Yorkshire moors, but its £170/night which is out of my budget. I would be willing to pay up to £140ish if its something special. Really want something idyllic, countryside, log fires nice walks etc. Than you in advance. lectrolove
How far do you want to travel? This one's about 3 hours away and surroundings don't get much more idyllic. http://www.thekingsheadinn.net/
Yiderlier
Hi, I really dont mind about the travel distance. That looks lovely! Does it have an open fire and all that jazz? This is the one I looked at http://www.blackswan-helmsley.co.uk/ Thanks people
lectrolove
I'm not sure about open fires, I haven't stayed there just eaten/drunk there. It ticks all your other boxes though. Bledington is a tiny village but very pretty, it's just a couple of rows of cottages and the pub, which is on a large green with a stream running through it. Murphy Jnr
http://www.the-millinn.co.uk/ Did a similar thing here many years ago. Had no idea what it was like or what it offered, didn't really care at all, had a great time.
max
You could try The Old Dungeon Ghyll in Langdale. I've not been there in 30 years but it used to serve a mean pint of Old Peculiar and was very welcoming.

Lockjaw
You could try The Old Dungeon Ghyll in Langdale. I've not been there in 30 years but it used to serve a mean pint of Old Peculiar and was very welcoming. Still stunning and still has the Old P but you you won't see any lakes from there.
