Halibut
It's the Mail, quoting the Sun, for crying out loud. Just because there's a possible legal challenge doesn't mean it will be upheld.
melthebell
i dont see the problem with the act criminals are criminals will use ANYTHING they can to make it more difficult to get busted. 'It seems like he has more freedom than we do. It's sickening' no he doesnt, he has as much rights as they do, if they were in his shoes they could use it the same way the thing is people say we dont need it, what would happen if we didnt have it? would it make US ALL more succeptable to abuse? would we all get closer to being victims of the state? In principle we need it but it does seem to be open for abuse itself and has become a common cry for anything and everything.

Jeffrey Shaw
But why cannot alleged baddies be extradited to the countries where they allegedly committed the offences of which they stand accused? Often, UK courts refuse extradition requests on the dubious ground that the accused might have a nasty time over there. Talk about us being a soft touch! Talk about us being a soft touch! its something weve set ourselves higher than other countries tho, we have put ourselves on a pedestal and pride ourselves on being more humane and civilised than others. its not something we can pick and choose tho we dont hang people anymore or torture people so the thinking is why send people back to countries that do? does that put a black mark next to our civilised and more humane nature? does that lower ourselves to their level? Jeffrey Shaw
No. It's called reciprocity. If we want 'our' baddies back here in UK, other countries are entitled to want 'their' baddies back too.

Jeffrey Shaw
No, we keep them because of well-meaning misguided policymakers.
