andygardener
Not too long ago when everything seemed fine we introduced all manner of green taxes and levies which add to the cost of goods and services in this country. At the time the argument was not that it would have a huge impact on the global situation but would give us the moral leadership to push change in the major polluters like China. Green taxes like climate change levy haven't as far as I'm aware had any impact on global warming but theyhave caused the loss of many British jobs in manufacturing. Now we're skint and chinese polution continuses at an ever greater rate is it time to get rid of these green taxes, may replace them with green tarrifs on imports from high poluting nations (OK that assumes we get back trade rights from the EU but imagaine we have or it's the EU doing it) or just get rid of all taxes which are supposedly imposed for green reasons?
