Balpin
They are trying to drag us back 40 years by this silly pretence that we are in a recession. The standard holiday is 27 to 33 days, plus stats depending on service. The PFI firms are setting new people on, on 22 days. This is a disgrace. We should be going forward, not backwards. Wake up the lot of you. This is 2011, not 1911.

Balpin
Americans are shocked when they learn we have between 4 and 5 weeks holiday, as they only get 3 weeks paid holidays. But they get paid about 5 times as much and can take holidays to better places than we can.

Balpin
The Netherlands and guess who else have the fewest bank holidays in Europe. You guessed it....it is us mugs again! Isnt it the Irish get the est? St Stepthens day, St Patricks Day, etc. Mind you, Barnsley always had another 52 holidays a year, Miners Monday. Or afterwards as it became known, St. Stellas Day.
