Donkey lover
So not quite as good as it might first have sounded with 2 weeks off every month. Most people get 8 days off every four weeks, they call them weekends It's not bad, I work 14 days out of 28 plus 10 weeks holiday plus bank holidays. Cyclone
It's not bad, I work 14 days out of 28 plus 10 weeks holiday plus bank holidays. Now I'm confused, is it 8 days off every 4 weeks or do you get 14 days off every 4 weeks?
Jeffrey Shaw
Holiday Entitlement -what is yours? None, as is always the case for those are self-employed.
Cyclone
Holiday Entitlement -what is yours? None, as is always the case for those are self-employed. I prefer to think of it as "as much as I like".
Jeffrey Shaw
The problem, as each of the self-employed knows, is that he/she has: a. a very cruel boss; and b. a very lazy employee; but all three of them are the same person.
Balpin
Can you give an example of somewhere that has these terms already? Mid Yorkshire Hospitals engineers has them.
Albet
It's not bad, I work 14 days out of 28 plus 10 weeks holiday plus bank holidays. This is confusing. In a cycle of a full year , how many days do you work.
Donkey lover
This is confusing. In a cycle of a full year , how many days do you work. 182, not including holidays. 12 hour shifts though so my "weekly" work is done in either 3 or 4 days. Jeffrey Shaw
(Old joke follows) No-one works at all! Here's how: 1. Assume 365 days per year. 2. Assume an 8 hour working day (= 1/3rd of day). 3. So you work 1/3rd of 365 days (= say 122). 4. You don't work Saturdays (= 122 - 52 = 70). 5. You don't work Sundays (= 70 - 52 = 18 ) . 6. You also get eight Bank Holidays off (= 18 - 4 = 14). 7. Plus your holiday entitlement. If it exceeds 14 days per year, your boss owes you some extra days too! Redyam
Remember to thank the trade unions for getting us all paid holidays. The same unions that are going on strike on wednesday.
