It would mean that a firm currently taking out a £5m loan at a typical interest rate of 5% would instead be able to borrow at 4%, saving £50,000 a year in interest payments.

If they are trying to get small business up and moving, what is their idea of small business?

£5 million is not small business, in our sense.

It just shows how out of touch this government is with the real world.

or lack of sense and knowledge.

A small fabrication firm, employing 20 men, could easily take an investment loan of 5 million.

This interest assistance will save jobs for the mindless fools who sit there and moan about how the government is helping it's mates.

In fact it's helping the 'workers' be workers instead of dole scroungers.

It depends on definitions.

I do not consider a firm with capital of 5 million to be a small business.

Besides, who are a firm like that to sell to, when the giants are gone?

Small businesses are the little people who swarm around giant places like hospitals and factories.

Jobbing buliders, window cleaners, gardners, sandwich sellers, chip shops, tools firms, all sorts of small people dependent on the monolith.

Cameron has no idea of the real world, because he has never lived in it.

And stop the silly talk about dole scoungers.

We all are saddened by them, but most have no option.

I would gladly take a back seat, and give my job over to a younger man, who is out of work. If I was given a decent pension, and a younger man could do it.

But we have no young, capable, engineers these days, due to Thatchers destruction of the engineering industry.

The man is an idiot, I mean, just look at him for a start. Who is going to buy products from UK firms since the market has moved to Chinese sweatshops because as we all know, profit and greed rule? The only option UK businesses have is in the area of specialised products, so why didn't the government give £80m to forgemasters? That's right politics. Even if that was to be the case how many businesses in the UK are British owned, does the money stay in the UK? Besides, even if we went down that route it wouldn't be too long before the products and techniques were copied by overseas competitors.

I'm so sorry you don't agree with the normal definition of the term.

BTW, I understand you live in some Sumatran backwater.

Why are you posting on an English forum, a country of which you have little day to day knowledge, if that is the case?
