sccsux
I could be wrong. You are. opened a standard current account for me which meant I got a new card etc before the changeover. How much are they charging you for this privilege?
sccsux
It only affect people who still have Solo cards and not those with Visa debit cards. Not so. I've got a Visa Debit card from PratWest that can only now be used in RBS/PratWest/PO machines.

This has posed a problem for my MIL as her benefits are paid into this acct and now unable to access her funds unless she takes £1.60 each way bus ride into town to access her money. Its dirty and its the banks way of keeping the poor, poorer. It's people like your mil that cost banks money. Hence why they have done this

sedith
No it's not at all. I've used my debit card many times to rent cars, both in the UK and abroad. Most large hire companies are absolutely fine with it. In fact I did it a few months ago, in the late summer, to hire a transit. Not with Enterprise, you wouldn't hire one without a credit card!
