Mitigation?

Here's your reaction:

So she was mentally ill? I rest my case...:D

That was the start of your "mentally ill" rumour. So, not a poster called Corker and the link is from the Croydon Guardian. They don't mention the Mental Health Act either:

A woman has appeared in court following an alleged racist rant on a Croydon Tram.

Emma West, 34, from New Addington, was charged with committing a racially aggravated public order offence.

Miss West, wearing a white and pink Adidas tracksuit top and jeans, spoke only to confirm her name and address at Croydon Magistrates Court this morning.

The court heard Miss West was arrested yesterday after a video was broadcast on YouTube, which showed a woman travelling on a tram between Croydon and Wimbledon making racists comments to other passengers.

The video has attracted a huge amount of attention worldwide and received more than 2.2 million hits in 24-hours.

Miss West was remanded in custody for a week pending psychiatric reports.

She is due to reappear in court on Tuesday December 6.

The evidence is that she is racist. Halibut asked what it would take to convince people that she is racist, I replied a white hood with 2 holes in it. I don't see what is ambiguous about that.

There's no evidence that she's racist, there's evidence that she said a racist thing. There is a massive difference..

Its gone...I've just been looking. He responded to your rant about she should be boiled in oil, her eyes poked out with pointed sticks and a hot poker rammed up her bottom, or words to that effect, by saying something like, "Isn't mental illness a justified defence" Then a quote from the BBC. Someone else quoted the same thing.

I've just googled "racist woman on a train" and there doesn't appear to be much about it. I read it in the Daily Fail, but can't find that either... There's something afoot...

My bold. You know that is far from what is written. I wonder why you would choose to write that? :suspect:

My Bold.

If you are suggesting that by "some form of catalyst", something must have occurred on the tram, then I disagree strongly.

If this woman was upset at anything so little as a wrong look, she'd have ignored it or took it up with the person involved. She would not have started ranting about all the people in the carriage being black and brown and the state of 'her' Britain.

It's fairly obvious why she and no one else was arrested - she's the one; the only one, who was guilty of an offence.

"Wrong look", where have you got that from?

Yes, she would be the one arrested in a case like this since she's not calmed down and fitting in with civilised society.

P.S. Quite happy she was arrested for her outburst.

Watch any of these real Police docu things to see that that is how it goes.

Again:

My Bold.

If you are suggesting that by "some form of catalyst", something must have occurred on the tram, then I disagree strongly.

Why? Do you disagree that something triggered all of this, that she just spontaneously freaked?

It was blatantly obviously not being claimed that the woman in the video mentioned white hoods. It was a reference to the KKK, made by Suffragette1 in response to some people's refusal to accept that it was racist behaviour.

You're being rather facetious frankly. If you don't accept that what she said was racist, then I think there's something rather dodgy about you.

This dumb, dumber and even dumber act is really rather tiresome. I despair. When is a racist not a racist?
