Where/how did the Royals acquire their wealth?

Recommended Posts

I think that if you want to trace the origins of monarchy in Britain/ Europe then the best place to start would be with the earliest Egyptian pharoah (c.3200 BC) known as Narmer (or Menes). Narmer was a tribal warlord, whose family had probably become wealthy and powerful through violently controlling trade routes (of copper, slaves, lapis lazuli or some other commodity) across the Near East during the late Bronze Age period. Narmer conquered and unified the northern and southern tribes of Egypt.

Following, Narmer, the pharoahs increased their power base by perpetuating a myth that they were the actual embodiment of the god Horus on earth and established their lineage by insisting that when the pharoah died s/he became the underworld god Osiris until s/he was later resurrected as Horus in the new pharoah. So monarchy has a long history of being directly associated with religion. Even the Egyptian pharoah's knew this myth to be a lie because c.1353 BC the pharoah Amenhotep IV (aka Akhenaten) denounced the entire Egyptian pantheon, particularly the powerful cult of Amun, as a means of grabbing power from priests that he believed had grown too powerful and announced his new role as the only bridge to the one true god- the Aten or sun-disc.

You can still see a lot of ancient Egyptian symbology in the modern UK monarchy:

- the Queen holds a mace during ceremonies, just as Narmer is first depicted smiting his enemies with his mace and uniting the tribal lands of northern and southern Egypt.

- the Queen has a royal seal, the pictographic seal was commonly used in ancient Egypt as a means of protecting a trade deal and indicating who the commodities belonged to. They were also believed to have magical properties.

- the Queen wears a crown topped with a religious symbol, the Egyptian gods were identified by their 'khepresh' or crown and every pharoah was depicted wearing a crown.

- the Queen sits on a throne, one of the oldest Egyptian godesses, Isis, translates as 'queen of the throne' and she wears a throne on her crown.

- Buckingham Palace is obviously modelled, in a classical style, on the facade of Karnak temple, complete with an obelisk in the form of a fountain.

- The Houses of Parliament are also designed as a church/ temple complete with an obelisk in the form of Big Ben.

- we bow or supplicate to the Queen, just as the ancient Egyptians did, because it symbolises the fact that we have submitted to being conquered.

There are plenty more such examples of how the modern British monarchy portrays itself as the direct descendant of the ancient Egyptian pharoahs but of course it's a medieval myth designed to imbue the conquerors of Britain with a history and genealogy that didn't exist and a special relationship with God that set them above other common people.

So monarchy was first introduced to the world through conquest and the desire for power, wealth and control over others and new monarchies have also been created historically in the same way since. All of the monarchic lines eventually fail because real world problems make people incredibly difficult to control and often enough they rebel against that control, hence Britain now has a Parliament aswell as a monarchy. Eventually the current British monarchic line will be largely forgotten about, just as the Egyptian line has, though new future conquerors may pick out certain symbols to substantiate their claim to aggrandisement.

I'm a fan of Big Bang Theory too, but i'm also a realist too!

If you're referring to the television program then I don't get the reference I'm afraid, I watched about 3 episodes when it first started and have avoided it since then, I almost find it offensive the way it tries so hard to pander to my demographic. Did they reference Athelstan? Because that would be somewhat surprising.

There's no conspiracy, just plenty of historical evidence.

Egyptian symbolism is the supposed hallmark of the illuminati and proof that the royal family are members of it.

Even if that generalisation was true, again, how does it necessarily link to reptilian theories?

If all someone is saying is there is a link between the SYMBOLISM used by the ancient Egyptians and the modern day Royals then how is that also saying they must turn into lizards or be members of the so called illuminati?
