MrSmith
For admitting "no one knows what caused it other than it started to expand." You have just admitted there had to be a cause. We are talking about the universe not the big bang. Nothing caused or created the universe and we don't know everything about what shapes and changed it. Agbus
We are talking about the universe not the big bang. So the universe did not need a first cause?
sccsux
The Bible says there was a previous universe. No it doesn't. As you seem to be having difficulty with your eyes: The infamous Graham? So, are you saying that you are not the user previously known on here as "Grahame" (the user with a strange belief in Robin Hood)? A yes or no will suffice. MrSmith
So the universe did not need a first cause? Why would it.
Agbus
No it doesn't. As you seem to be having difficulty with your eyes: <snip> Yes it does.
sccsux
Why would it. Because that would negate the need for a deity.

Agbus
Why would it. If the universe does not need a first cause why would God?
sccsux
Yes it does. Whatever. What about the second question? The infamous Graham? So, are you saying that you are not the user previously known on here as "Grahame" (the user with a strange belief in Robin Hood)? A yes or no will suffice. MrSmith
There is a lot going on in research, different theories, different approaches. But all these scientists have one thing in common: they are driven by their passion and curiosity, and their ongoing research proves that they won't accept that the universe "just is". They will continue looking at what shapes and changes it, what they won't do is invoke magic to explain anything, for now it exists and there is no reason to assume at some point it didn't exist.
