alex3659
A shocking report on the news today about honour based violence against women being on the increase in the uk. Killings, beatings, imprisonment and forced marraiges. What kind of people can treat their own flesh and blood so cruelly?. There is no honour in behaving in this way. Frank Sidney
Up nearly 50% on the previous year. 2,800 cases. Why do the media keep calling it "honour" anyway. Its not "honourable" to bully and beat or even kill another person. Issues like this are difficult to resolve because the country is scared stiff to be critical of anything that happens in these communities. No doubt some will be along shortly to claim those, who don't come from these communities, have a racist agenda. They'll provide links that show that abuse in Macclesfield by white shopkeepers is up on last year...Oh and then there'll be links about Catholic priests as though this is some sort of reasoning. It takes a certain person to make a stand against things like this because you'll get attacks and claims of racism...But sticks and stones... Most people from these communities, think its Iranian and one other, are not involved in this. Some are and we need to stop it, for the women's sake who are the most important issue in the debate... mj.scuba
It was inevitable. When you have mass importation of people, you also import their cultures and attitudes, they don't get left behind at the departure airport. It's just a shame that a significant number of our inward migrants come from a land of barbarity, and bring it with them.
alex3659
Two wrongs don't make a right, putting links to non related issues does not make these events reported acceptable or excuseable.
Tradescanthia
It is illegal to harm someone in any way for whatever reason. The laws are already in place, so they should be used to their full extent. Someones culture, religion, or ethnic origin is no excuse. There is nothing honourable in hurting someone. Its the term they use that makes me sick, "honour". Like there any honour in murdering a loved one. Sick is the word.!!!

LeMaquis
The term "When in rome" means bugger all to these cave people I don't think the BNP believe in when in Rome. They want to bring in laws from the USA that will allow everyone to own a gun and would have us end up with US levels of crime. That would do a lot to stop honour killings.
