TheBlueDragon
Hi people, I've been given a crate of carling from a mate and the date on the bottom says July 2011. They have been kept in a fridge and all the cans are sealed properly still. Are they safe to drink?
fruitisbad
I doubt it will taste much worse than carling regularly does.

Of course it will be safe to drink but ask yourself the question would i sooner drink the contents of a pub spitoon or a pint of carling.
gnvqsos
Definitely unsafe and should be disposed off by a reputable contractor.I can supply you with details of a bloke who will do the first disposal free as a loss leader. His name is Karl Schburg and lives in Fool Wood-give him a ring as hes in the book. Rich
Almost 6 months out of date? Unless you have cast iron guts I personally wouldn't risk it!
azazel666
Seriously, it should be fine. But have a quick taste before downing the whole can. Remember the label on beer says "best before", not use by. This normally means that there won't be anything evil growing in it in the months after the date, but might not taste as good as the manufacturer wants you to experience. swordfish1
It'll be fine. My parents drink that little that they always have out of date lager/cider and beer that they've bought for Christmas etc. 4 or 5 months really is nothing.
