Jeffrey Shaw Posted January 9, 2013 Share Posted January 9, 2013 Falkland fact: when the Argies call the Falklands 'Malvinas', they presumably do not realise that this name is itself derived from the [French] 'St. Malo'- so 'maloiunes' as an adjective- because the French had a claim and the claimants tried to name the islands after the coastal town from which they'd set sail.
