whiteroses
A walk out to Monsal Head from Ashford in the Water is always gorgeous. It's about an hour each way at a fairly slow ramble and is flat, so suitable for all the family. If you set off in the morning and get to Monsal Head at lunchtime, you can get drinks from the Stables Bar to enjoy while looking over the valley. From there, it's a five-minute stroll into Little Longstone where the food at the Packhorse Inn is absolutely incredible. Yorkshire Sculpture Park is brilliant too, but I don't know of a good pub around there for lunch.
ukdobby
I normally go for a stroll round Dam Flask and call for a few beers in Nags after or Plough depending where I park, this year going for a walk in Guadamere beach if the rain holds off. gnvqsos
Hi All, My sister and her partner are staying over Christmas and thought it woukd be nice to have a few hours out of thehouse on Boxing day. Back when we were kids this would usually mean a walk on the sea front or across the South Downs - but have no idea where might be good around here. I was wondering if anywhere would be open in Bakewell or one of the other surrounding market towns etc? so we could have a mosey and maybe some lunch? Or can anyone suggest a good location for a short walk which might have a lunch location? What about Yorkshire sculpture Park? Am open to any ideas really, what do you and your families do on Boxing day? Cheers! I bet you are from Worthing!
