sedith
I know that..I know it's difficult but they shouldn't be taking on loans that they won't be able to service.. But you are thinking rationally Truman ... not the case with the people taking on these loans in the first place? This goes back generations when catalogue clubs used to be common place, their products were always more expensive than the high street, but if you need unsecured credit and you wanted the goods there and then, it has to paid for at a premium? All this is not new, it has just become more prolific due to the economic climate! The increase in Cash Converters and the like are only pawn shops of the like 50 years ago. Go back 10 years to Ocean Finance, it used to be nothing but those ads on Sky ... where are they now?

LSMBuilders
So they say but folks without jobs don't have pay days. I agree up to a point but people don't need wide screen TVs, Xboxes, Iphones and designer labels. It is the ability to buy things that you don't need on tick that gets many folks into the situation in the first place. I agree, we are a culture that lives beyond our means. There aren’t many people out there who haven’t borrowed to get what they want. Be it a bigger mortgage to live on the nice street or a store card to buy the 52" TV, its all relative. alchresearch
I wonder how many of these loans will be taken out to buy expensive unnecessary Christmas stuff.

Borrowing and being able to pay back easily is far removed from the "payday" scenario.. in my opinion of course..
sedith
They have a whole channel to themselves.. http://www.oceanfinancetv.co.uk/ The Ocean Finance ad used to make me laugh when they pulled that bearded guy out of the water and gave him glass of orange juice and consolidated his loans! I'd take my chances in the water rather than get involved with them!
