Or would a local income tax be fairer?

 

I think local income tax might be fairer, e.g. my house is worth pretty much now as it was a few months ago but a few months ago we were both employed whereas now it's just me.

They should get rid of council tax and charge a tax based upon a property's value.

I disagree. I want a socialist based tax where everyone pays the same.

What would be fairer, without upsetting the current system too much, is calculate the base (property band) value on an annual basis.
