rosieadamson
depression with sportsmen, and women for that matter, seems to be a thing of today, i myself have been a fan of ronnie o sullivan for a while and he has battled depression for many years, it shows anyone can be effected by this cruel illness. Tardis
It sounds as if he has been playing on a STICKY WICKET for some time, so he decided to BAIL out. Seems that he is the THIRD MAN to do so. He realised that his time had RUN OUT so waved cricket good BYE.

It took Trescothick from cricket, and hits many who are otherwise resilient.I think Peter Roebuck recently took his life,as a consequences of struggles in the dark. rosieadamson
its so sad that even famous people in the media cant get the help they need to put them back on track, ronnie o sullivan talks on a regular basis with dr steve peters, so the help is there for him, but the others go under the radar. TJC1
It particularly effects people with a driven personality. Thats why some sportsmen get depression. Due to mental stress. But yes, I would agree being poor and working 12 hour shifts in a job you hate might bring its on types of pressures.
