CXC3000
“A lie can travel halfway around the world while the truth is still putting on its shoes” Thankfully, the truth (where Israel's concerned), has done a few laps around that world. Harleyman
In any case, aren't drones supposed to be expendable? I read somewhere that 1/3 of US drones have been lost, crashed etc. Why would they put top secrets in something that had a good chance of not returning? And I'm kind of leery of anything the Chinese "reverse engineer". Can you really, truly understand how something works by taking it apart and trying to copy it? I sure hope the stuff they make for themselves is better than the stuff they send over here. Just around the house, we've had lights burn out, circuits boards fry, and a blower motor for a furnace burn out. A neighbor who owns a machine shop said chinese steel just disintegrates. He said he's never seen anything like it. I couldn't believe the accident with the chinese bullet trains this summer. They stole technology from the Japanese, but neglected to put in the safety system. After the inevitable catastrophe, they tried to blame the Japanese, who have had not a single fatality on their bullet trains for "faulty" design. Of all things to leave out! They didn't think they'd need the safety system? Or did the one they reverse engineered malfunction? On the trip to China in 2008 we took the bullet train from downtown Shanghai to the airport, a distance of about 30 miles. The trip was impressive enough but what blew me away when we arrived at the airport was when I saw what looked like a big strip of repair tape of some kind strapped to the bodywork just above the door of the driver's compartment which had obviously been placed there to "repair" a fracture or damage of some kind. The Chinese made tour bus we traveled on was pretty new by the looks of it and comfortable enough but it was equipped with a manual transmission of all things and sprang a leak on the roof at the back during a heavy rain fall while we were on the road Many people in Beijing and Shanghai travel around on electric scooters which are sensible and economic enough in this day and age but when they park them outside the blocks of flats they all live in they remove the battery from the scooter and have to lug it up 8 flights of stairs first before they reach the elevators. They take the batteries to their flats to avoid theft There are no elevators for the first 8 floors in Chinese residential buildings. I didn't see any Chinese made cars while there. They were all Toyotas, Hondas, Volkswagens. Nissans and American Buicks which are assembled locally plus a few Mercede-Benz here and there. The aircraft we flew to Beijing on was a Boeing 747-400 series operated by Air China and the domestic flight from Beijing to Shanghai and back was aboard a Boeing 737 All this tells me that China is still very much far away from being classified as a country on the cutting edge of technology. Anyway, I'll go outside now and hang up my cheap plastic Chinese made Christmas lights and hope I dont get electrocuted in the process
