Brother Bart Maverick, played by Jack Kelly, was introduced soon after the series began. Roger Moore occasionally dropped in to play their aristocratic English cousin, Beau Maverick. chrishall Posted December 18, 2011 Share Posted December 18, 2011 I remember watching cowboys on the telly and noticing someone would sometimes pull a written note or map from his shirt pocket and read it, really impressed me that did so I used to get my mum to write me one in longhand so that I could re-enact it (this was before I could read or write in longhand) Randolph Scott was my hero then. But the Cowboy heroes go much further back and were big in the silent movies, Tom Mix, Tex Ritter, and even Hopalong Cassidy had white hair when I remember him...
