I'd say that she can have the wedding that SHE can afford - and if her parents contribute (or his) then that's very kind of them but not expected. She needs a reality check! LitleMermaid Posted December 13, 2011 Share Posted December 13, 2011 When we got engaged we expected to pay for the whole hing ourselves-bu my parents kindly offered to buy my dress, and help with the decorations (my mum is very artistic) and OH's parents insisted on paying for the photographer. Between them they will save us close to £2000 and we are so grateful. Photos and my dress are the twi things I didn't wanna do on the cheap luckily I do believe you can have a lovely wedding (ours will be a church, big white wedding) without spending a fortune, but we would never have expected them to pay for the whole thing!
