alchresearch Posted December 16, 2011 Share Posted December 16, 2011 The problem is the cheap generic code readers don't often give that much info. For example, on our Peugeot forum a chap bought a code reader to find out why it wasn't starting very well. The reader reported a P code for glow plug relay. He changed the relay but it was still the same. If he'd asked one of the members for a proper diagnostic with specific Peugeot diag tools we'd have done it for the price of a beer (a tenner tops), got the same fault code but also done a full diagnostic test on the relay to find it wasn't that but something else.
