kay1
Do we have any oldies out there who can remember Camphorated Oil? when we had a bad cold my mother used to warm a bottle of Camphorated Oil then rub it on our chest and back when we went to bed to help us breathe my Daughter would love to know if anybody still makes this up, for her to use on her grandchildren. She has tried the vapour rubs you can buy now but insists that they can't touch the warm Camphor
Mandem
My Mum used to do the same, it smelled lovely. I asked at the chemist for some, but they don't sell it now, something to do with banned substances. Health and Safety and all that.

BobbyDazzler
I remember the song about it! John Brown's baby had a cold upon his chest, my Mum used to sing that to me when she was rubbing Camphorated Oil on my chest.
