grinder
Looking back there's quite a few contenders for me but I think its probably " The Magnificent seven". Think I first watched it at the Heeley Palace And my favorite Cowboy has got to be John Wayne.... So after some thought I'm going to change that to "Rio Bravo" John Wayne, Dean Martin, and Walter Brennan..
sharrovian
I liked John Wayne and Rio Bravo was a good'un but what about "The Searchers", I also agree with you on "The Magnificent Seven" and would add "Shane", "Shenandoah", "Lawman", "Gunfight at the OK corral", "A Man called Horse", "Dances with Wolves", "The Big Country" and "True Grit" (John Wayne version) and I know as soon as I log off I will think of some more. Mr Tibbs
True Grit both versions but I prefer the latest from the Coen Brothers.
bigsteve
Another vote for 'True Grit' John Wayne or although not strictly a western (as its in Austrailia) 'The Sundowners' top film you can watch with any member of the family!

Sweatshopboy
The Searchers without doubt.
Sweatshopboy
True Grit both versions but I prefer the latest from the Coen Brothers. You could understand what Geoff Bridges (Rooster Cogburn) was talking about then? Put the Coen Brothers film score on the Wayne film and you'll find Wayne's film is superior. xenia
All of the above but, the greatest western ever is, in my opinion. The Outlaw Josey Wales
