Kadogo
I take 10 mg of Ramipril, and 10 mg of Amlodipine each morning. Never gives me a problem - apart from erectile dysfunction. BP now 115/68 on average.
Kadogo
I used to take Indomethacin, an NSAID. Blood appeared in the stools, and a possible side effect was stated as " Heart Failure". That is one hell of a possible side effect.

kckc
My dad got itching with Cozaar (another antihypertensive), and I remember him having a hard time trying to convince the GP that the drug was responsible. An 'itchy skin rash' is listed as a side effect of Ramipril http://drugs.webmd.boots.com/drugs/drug-399-ramipril.aspx?drugid=399&drugname=ramipril&istictac=false Hope you get something that suits you a bit better, but it seems pretty much all medicines have some side effects Edited January 14, 2012 by kckc
walkertelecoms
I used to take it, and it gave me constant cold symptoms. Now I'm just on Metformin, which makes my toes feel numb, but not really. (if you're on Metformin you'll know what I mean).

Saffy
My husband was taking them for years and constantly at the docs with his chest and bad cough .. It was only on seeing a different doctor by chance that she noticed that he was on these and said .. You do know they can cause a bad cough? He has new ones now, but these can cause some form of cancer .. You can't win. Lol
pattricia
My blood tests for liver function are OK. AND after being off Ramipril for 7 days, the itching has completely stopped. !!! I now have to go back to my GP for an alternative drug for high blood pressure.
