Why do women not do any team sports?

Recommended Posts

My boyfriend plays golf, football and pool - the first and last which i enjoy myself but i would really like to pursue a sport with a female team in the same way that he goes out to play footy.

There seems to be a real lack of this which i think is a shame. Its as though once you reach womanhood, you are just destined to be wifey, or just go out drinking with the girls....or at lease that's how it feels to me.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Steel City Wanderers are a ladies football team based in the Oughtibridge area of Sheffield, check out their site:

If your a bit more red blooded, Sheffield Rugby Club also have a ladies team, check below:

And ladies 8-ball pool leagues in Sheffield can be found here!

As for the Golf, its pretty easy, you just pop down to your local course, who are bound to offer courses for ladies, if you get the hang of things, then they will advise you of womens leagues!

All the best anyway, and good luck in finding a sport that suits you!

I run a fencing club in Sheffield and we have a mixed bag of members including women one of whom is a pentathlete. I recently fenced in the The Hereford & Worcester open fencing competition and at epee alone there were over 90 women fencers.

Come along on Thursday nights and have a go.

Yeah, hey...

I've been thinking about joining a netball team also. I from Australia and I'm wanting to meet some new people.

Are there any place where you can just play for fun on a night during the week if you have your own team?
