trans
Do you think everyone in South Yorkshire should boycott the Thatcher film being shown in the the New Year to make the Conservaties and the film makers that there is still bitterness here to what she did at the time. Grandad.Malky
There is a generation that should be made to watch it, along with this as well.
Rupert_Baehr
Do you think anybody would care if they did? Do you think there are no Conservatives in South Yorkshire? Do you think South Yorkshire should make a unilateral declaration of independence and become a self-funding autonomous state, paying its own way from its own resources and buying-in those services which can only be purchased from the National Government? If it did, do you think there would be a rush to get in, or a rush to get out?
Grandad.Malky
“If they were seals or whales you would be up in arms” Says it all really …….. Brings a tear to my eye every time I hear that speech.

No. I think it will be quite an interesting film. The woman did a lot of good and certainly got things done. You seem to be assuming that all of South Yorkshire gives a damn. Are they still bitter? Really? really really?? Do you think half the county even know or care about those hard times these days?? Many were not even born. Many were only children and have got their own lives. Time to move on like the rest of planet. YOU make your own life. Things change and we move on. We dont sit there whinging on about events over 20 years ago. Oh one last thing...... ITS ONLY A FILM
janie48
it seems to have very good reviews with Meryl Streep playing Maggie though wether it will be a flattering portrayal of her i don't know.
WeX
I will be watching it. The Iron lady was the best thing to happen to the UK since Churchill.
scousemouse
.....well said WeX!!! I didn't always agree with her, but I think she was avery good leader. Her own party stabbed in the back. I have always voted Tory, but not happy with the set up we have at the moment, they doing too much too soon.
