I don't know the exact date but I worked for the council putting the cats eyes in the carriageway on the parkway around 1974 time also did other numerous jobs up and down the compleat length i would say it opened around 74/75 time if that is any help. BIGJON Posted January 15, 2012 Share Posted January 15, 2012 I worked on the Parkway on hire to the council with a 6w tipper from Henry Mathews. Seem to remember a council lorry driver getting killed when he drove under a concrete bridge with the tipper up and fetched the bridge down on the cab.
