SpiderPete
Have you tried Lions Lair, they play house music and are open until the early hours of the morning, Friday`s and Saturday`s are the main nights. If you are on facebook they have a group with details. Lions Lair is down the side of John Lewis
Nocturnal-
Hi, I've tried Lions Lare once a few months back. I really didn't like it. Although the music was ok (I think it was a Saturday). The whole place was filled with guys. And I head it's a gay club but these men didn't seem to be gay. It felt like they just wanted to leech onto anything. Not my thing. As for FWD on NYE. I'm sorry but it was definitely basline influenced music. They may be Sheffield legends but Sheffield legends would then cater towards the 'Sheffield market'???? Which from my impression is baseline... Me and my friend stayed in the club for about 10 minutes, during this time I went to the toilet, and when I returned.. we both agreed that it wasn't for us and left. It was definitely baseline influenced house if anything. I like my funky, electro, tech house. The kind that you get at Mint Club in Leeds. djsnfx
there are some excellent house crews in sheff if you want commercial venue but gd decent music then try nocturnal but it has changed its name recently im sure some1 will tell u. i jus cnt think of it at the mo lol. if ur more into deep underground music/venues try dls or yellow arch, these are gennerally invite only tho and hardly ever advertised, theres also a few freeparty crews that go around that specialise in quality house...to link with the best contacts get yourself to the vine pub on cemetry rd.. Pinnacle PAT
Sheffield is nowhere near as good as it used to be for house. Long gone are the days of The Unit, early gatecrasher, Luvdup @ Leadmill, All Points North etc..... sad but true. There still good nights out there, people like Liam C and Dave Hardy are always knocking out good deep house
dosxuk
I think this may be your problem: Me and my friend stayed in the club for about 10 minutes, during this time I went to the toilet, and when I returned.. we both agreed that it wasn't for us and left. I'm yet to go to a nightclub and not at some point gone "why on earth are they playing this?!". Normally normal service is resumed on the next song, but occaisionally the song drops and turns into something awesome.

RELIABLE
Truth is !!!!What ever you want in sheffield forget it , ..... cause its not about what promoters want or club owners want ...Its all about what sheffield police and licensing will allow . Yes south yorkshire police, council ect have killed sheffield nightlife , the only thing they have achieved is cutting police bills on the city centre over the weekend . Sheffield centre will never be the same again , and that is going back as far as stone house, Roxys ect ect , sheff is of the map . FACT ......I FEEL REALLY SORRY FOR BAR, CLUB OWNERS AND TAXI DRIVERS....NO CLUBBERS NO INCOME = NO SHEFFIELD
