Bonjon
So we are in the season of inappropriate car lighting, why oh why do so many people need to turn their fog lights on?? Coincidentally its usually the same people who don't know what indicators are for. Then you have the people who add led's to their car lights, you already have a **** bucket putting little led's everywhere isn't going to change that. Anyone else noticed this phenomenon? Guest
I don't often see that specifically. I do see lots of badly adjusted dipped headlights where one light is blinding and the other is barely bright enough to see. People don't seem to be taught to maintain their cars any more. They are a pain, recently I have also seen someone with one headlight out and one fog light out on alternating sides. Just this morning on the M1(still dark) someone with no rear lights. I generally know as soon as I lose a bulb and always have stock at home to swap if required.
willman
It's the same with everything today, until the appropriate action is taken by those responsible for enforcement people will continue to do their own thing. They're all traffic offences and all should be dealt with accordingly, some are MOT failures making the car illegal to be on the road. I've installed additional rear lights 'cos i'm sick of people not seeing the car.
GoGo_dancer
We must see at least one car a day with a broken light on the commute to work. And I really hate those new LED type brake lights they've started putting on Audi's, they're so bright they must be visible from space!
PeteMorris
I don't know about fog lights so much, but just lately I've noticed an inordinate amount of drivers happily driving with no lights on at all in the pitch dark!!!!!...It simply beggars belief that when you get in a car, and don't turn your lights on, you can't see the dashboard, speedometer, or the road. How on earth do people manage it? It's beyond belief!

How on earth do people manage it? It's beyond belief! They must think that it increases the cost on their electricity bill. I also notice cars showing no lights at all in dense fog, using fog lights appears to be a bit of a sissy thing to do, the numpties don't realise that it helps others to see them. WasThatWise
I reckon one in ten cars have a defective headlight, it would seem simple and sensible for traffic agencies to simply record number plates and send a letter to registered owner to get it fixed makng things safer for everybody. If the same reg is noted again after seven days and within a year then automatically issue a ticket or require the car to be booked in to a test centre for an overall safety check at owners expense. Bloomdido
I estimate that one in 20 cars has some kind of lighting defect. As for the extra lights, are they fog lights or cool trendy 'look at me' lights? I once got pulled for having fog lights on when they weren't needed. Never done it since. Also, when we do get some fog, there will be numptys driving around for days afterwards with their rear fogs left on. I walk around my car once a week and check lights and tyres.
