Often not an option for asylum seekers or refugees. Many people come here looking for work and a better future and do so with little by way of savings.

So if they get here and the work and better future isn't available wouldn't it make sense to try somewhere else?

whys somewhere else come into it? its not really a thread about asylum seekers in general, it was in reply to dougs point about a house

SHOULD somebody with NOTHING be left to die in depravation in favour of somebody who may be able to get help from friends and family etc?

IF THEY CAME HERE

yeah somebody fleeing rockets raining down onto their house and all their family being killed thinks hmmm think i best wait till i can save up a bit first

so again ill say it, is it fair DOUG gets the house even tho its only a slight inconveniance if he doesnt rather than possible life or death for the other?

Someone in that situation would just move to the closest safe country wouldn't they?

No they should be sent back to their place of origin after being given some food and water.

its a very selfish attitude to take, why bother giving em food and water too while were at it, or just dump em in the sea have done with it

Everyone should get equal treatment with no favouritism to any group.

its NOT favouritism, its about helping the weakest in society, the poorest, those with nothing, the most desperate

its not about countries or regions or colour or religions
