MrSmith
Can the UK afford to house and feed the world, and how much would you give up to achieve this. I believe there are too many humans on the planet and it is this fact that leaves people starving, we are after all just one of the many animals on this planet, and nature will always find a balance. Forumosaurus
It was said there were too many humans for the planet to sustain, a hundred years ago. Now look, there's 7 Billion of us as a fewer percentage of us go hungry every night than back then. It's totally BS, there's more than enough room on this planet, it just needs to be cultivated and made use of. And if you think there are too many humans on the planet, what are you going to do about it? You going to sacrifice your place are you? What's your grand plan? And yet billions are starving and don't have access to clean water, if the UK had to be self sufficient and used all its available land for food it can only feed 15 million people to the standard we have now. On a planetary scale using all available land to grow cereal crops we can only feed 16 billion with the minimum amount of food, water would be a bigger problem. MrSmith
why must people give up something? and for what? your talking in riddles now If you want to give everyone a house and feed the world it will require some sacrifice, or are you proposing someone else makes the sacrifice. I really would love to see where you're getting these figures from. And you seem to be suggesting the the UK is feeding and housing the world, which of course it clearly isn't.
