Have you had a cough?

This NHS campaign is urging people with a persistent cough to go to the doctors.

People with coughs and colds clogging up A&E

So the advice from doctors in Sheffield is;

The city’s health professionals say many of those queuing with coughs, colds, vomiting and diarrhoea could have received quicker treatment simply by visiting their GP or pharmacist.

How does that work then?

I recall having pulled a muscle in my shoulder last year, and it was putting pressure on my lung, making it hard to breathe, so I popped to the doctors.

Prescription = Antibiotics, when I clearly needed pain relief, and did not have a chest infection.

Pity we can't write our own prescriptions.
