As stated she has razed a $12 million home to the ground.

As she got a $100 million divorce settlement she can well afford it but what a waste. No appreciation for money whatsoever. As one commented on it i hope they recycled the materials and not just razed it to the ground.

Actually now that I've fully read the article it isn't as daft as it sounds. Following the divorce she bought the property which clearly is a dreary old place but with a fabulous beach front location. 95% of the value is the actual site which can be used to build a far better mansion which will be a far better investment. Maybe the old girl hasn't lost her marbles after all.

You say waste, and I would whole heartedly agree; that was a lovely looking building simply bulldozed to nothing.

However looking at it from a different angle - it cost £x hundred thousand to remove the house, and it will cost £x million for whatever is going to replace it.

Thats a lot of money going back into the system instead of just sitting in an account accruing interest for somebody that never has to lift a finger again.
