alternageek
I didnt realise you were there until AUGUST. Then driving down to Tennessee and Missouri might be fine You can find cheap air travel within the US with: SouthWest airTran JetBlue Spirit Airlines (closest to RyanAir in the US) For travel outside the Mid West area In Nashville, Id suggest: Catch a open mic night at the Blue Bird cafe (located on Hillsboro Drive ) in Green Hills. Most of the big country music stars got their first big break there. Also a lot live in the area and you can go star spotting. Have breakfast at the Pancake Pantry on 21st Avenue South (just outside Music Row) and its a local hot spot and apparently the best breakfast in the city. When I lived there, especially on the weekends, there were huge queues outside waiting - so get there early! Tour the Grand Olde Opry and the Parthenon I was only there for 9 months and stupidly broke, so wasn't able to get out and about much..
