Leah-Lacie
"A kosher animal must be a ruminant and have split hooves - therefore cows, sheep, goats and deer are all kosher, whereas camels and pigs (having each only one sign of kashrut) are not kosher." For some reason, maybe because it seems, IMO, rather ridiculous, made me laugh.

RootsBooster
He has only forbidden you dead meat, and blood, and the flesh of swine, and any (food) over which the name of other than Allah has been invoked. But if one is forced by necessity, without wilful disobedience, nor transgressing due limits,- then Allah is Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful chuffin hell .... Does that mean you can have a bacon butty every now and then and him upstairs will turn a blind eye ? Looks like it, for Muslims, if necessary. What about Jews and others? Forumosaurus
Actually the ban on pork consumption is stricter in the Bible. The Quran says you can eat pork if you're forced to out of necessity. The Bible makes no such exceptions. It's perceived as being unclean, also the Quran says Allah turned Jews into pigs (and monkeys), and Muslims don't like Jews.
