Bacon ?? Whats so wrong with it ?

Actually the ban on pork consumption is stricter in the Bible. The Quran says you can eat pork if you're forced to out of necessity. The Bible makes no such exceptions.

It's perceived as being unclean, also the Quran says Allah turned Jews into pigs (and monkeys), and Muslims don't like Jews.

Well said. In Leviticus God forbids Christians from eating any meat from the pig. Pretty much everything that is haram to Muslims is forbidden to Christians. It is just that most Christians nowadays are only token Christians who really have no idea what their faith actually means.

Errr... There weren't any Christians when Leviticus was written.:hihi:

In Biblical times (both before Christ was born and afterwards) there weren't many refrigerators around, either.

If you leave pork (or shellfish, which are also banned for the same reason) lying around they will produce toxins (not just bacteria) which are not destroyed by cooking.

If you eat old pork or old shellfish, you may well die. Beef and goat meat, along with fish (other than shellfish) can be dried and eaten safely. Perhaps somebody realised that and used religious rules to stop people from poisoning themselves?

Not often I agree with Mr Baehr, but I think he's right on the money here.

I am of course aware of that fact thank you.

Nowhere in the New testament is that instruction reversed, therefore it stands. In fact it is OT food laws are touched upon, in Acts I think, in which Peter gives his oath that he has never eaten unclean meat (of which swine are one).

The food rules stand, as do those on smoking, tatoos and alcohol.
