gremlin_mick
My parents are trying to find out what was on the site of Woodhouse Grammar School BEFORE it was built back in 1909! Long shot I know, but does anyone have any idea? Probably fields, but they'd like to know (they live in Brunswick Gardens which was built on the site of the old school)
Strix
You could try looking on here: http://www.old-maps.co.uk/maps.html Don't look for 'Woodhouse' though - it's giving the one in Leeds I can't decide if the building marked on the map I was looking at (sorry, website doesn't like giving links) is opposite the junction pub, or on the site which became the bungalows for the development Edit: 1894 Pre-WWII 1:10,560 - DERBYSHIRE, (PARTIAL COVERAGE) map clearly shows nothing on that site opposite the junction pub, but Netherfield house was standing at the top end of the site You'd be able to find photo's of Netherfield House on picturesheffield.com
