cant work this one out either, tablets and patches etc help with the addiction, and reduce the side effects of smoking, namely;

horrible wrinkly skin

thin haggard faces

horrible yellow teeth and stinky breath

empty pockets due to cost

lung cancer/oesophageal cancer/hacking coughs and phlegm

all of the above suffered by a family member who smoked 40 a day for 20yrs

For the same reason people drink alcohol, eat unhealthy food, fail to get enough exercise, don't wash their hands after going to the toilet.

If people were rational and sensible, there's be far less activity on Sheffield Forum.

..........but it would save the NHS an awful lot of money.

Why do people smoke,why do people get drunk,why do people eat too much,why do people fight,why do people swear,why do people drive their cars everywhere,why do people have tattoos,why do people get into debt.

Because we are not all as perfect as Mr Moran

By the way,Mr.is a courtesy title given to you by others and not one that you should apply to yourself.

Smoking is a vile habit IMO, I've never done and never will, but I've got a cousin who's got 2 young kids and smoked through both of her pregnancies, I told her off for it as well, thankfully it doesn't seem to have harmed the kids! My late Grandad smoked a Pipe though, and he died in his 70s back in August 1997 (same week as Princess Di :( )

Because they are weak willed and not bright enough either to realise the damage it does to their bodies or how repulsive their habit is to others.

Very true.I did it for 33 years and then woke up to the reality of my stupidity and realised what a repulive and revolting activity it is.

Cigarettes should be £50 a pack and only sold to the over 90's.

In the 5 years since I stopped I have saved just over £18,000.
