Hi everyone,

My car has been been stage 1 tuned and seems to be now making a rattling noise.

it happens when i put my foot flat down. sometimes on flat road but mainly going uphill.

plus there is a judder at 3000rpm in every gear.

WHAT could it be???

it sounds like ball bearings in ametal can being rattled about.

Its a vw bora 1.6 16v x reg

cheers,

dave

I am almost certain that it is "pinking"

This is usually incorrect timing (but not normally on electronic ignition) or sometimes fuel mixture.

These days it is very rare but still possible.

The reason for it is down to unburned fuel igniting in the valve ports.
