medusa
It could be all sorts of things, but if you start with the assumption that because it started at the same time as the engine tuning, that makes pre-ignition a lot more likely than other things, especially bearing in mind that the knocking is at a particular rev range and when the engine is pulling. Either way round, you need a mechanic that you can trust and you need to be prepared to pay for them to put the damage right.
Taximark
I'm not a fan of re tuning or re mapping, unless the engine is nearly new or with very low warranted miles on the clock, you might get more performance etc but you risk a catalogue of problems in doing it. Your engine could blow up any minute.
ANGELFIRE1
As stated, folly to tune an "old" engine. It's like entering a pensioner into a hundred yard dash, they will finish last - if they finish at all, or they will fall down knackered half way, the same way your engine seems to have done. Angel. anywebsite
ok most likely i will opt for a reversal of the tune Seriously, I'd get a different mechanic to take a look (and listen) at it. Knocking & rattling sounds when you rev can be a sign that the engine is about to fall to bits.
Guest brownd95
i am worried because it rattles always when i put my foot flat down. obviously, if im light footed it doesnt rattle. Also why does it judder only at 3000rpm. a single jolt exactly on 3000rpm needle point???
