Car making rattling sound uphill - HELP??

Defiantly sounds like its pinking. Used to be a common problem on older cars with old style ignition systems when the ignition timing was too far advanced.

Modern ecu controlled cars have a knock sensor which detects pinking and retards the ignition timing automatically in that situation.

As its been stage one tuned the knock sensor could have been immobillized or its settings adjusted hence the pinking noise.

Hi everyone,

My car has been been stage 1 tuned and seems to be now making a rattling noise.

it happens when i put my foot flat down. sometimes on flat road but mainly going uphill.

plus there is a judder at 3000rpm in every gear.

WHAT could it be???

it sounds like ball bearings in ametal can being rattled about.

Its a vw bora 1.6 16v x reg

cheers,

one other thing guys, i was listening to different sounds people were getting on youtube.

It sounds to me like cogs making noises like ball bearing in a tin can maybe cogs missing a tooth or crunching??. not a rattle like the cat shielding.

like the flywheel or something?????
