Raising a Child as Gender Neutral

Now where have i heard that argument before:suspect:?

:

Something being true increases the liklihood of it being repeated.

Dont blame it on the sunshine

Dont blame it on the moonlight

Dont blame it on the good times

Blame it on the Mail!!

The story is from a Daily Mail article. Are they not responsible for their own output?

Hardly

You don't believe the Daily Mail seeks to incite moral outrage in it's readers?

It starts in the first post.

The story is linked from a Daily Mail article. A portion of it is quoted in the OP:

"The fact is that for more than three decades, Left-wing ideologues have been determinedly unravelling sexual and gender differences — on the grounds that the very idea that people are different amounts to a kind of prejudice."

Are there any right wing supporters in favour of such an experiment? I don't think so. So therefore, its only right to mention the left...so to speak..

In what context? A fascist would say no. A libertarian would say the state has no right to intervene. Equally, there are whole schools of left-wing thought that are built on the state intervening in people's lives.

Left/Right is a false dichotomy. Do you think people should be forced to raise their children in a certain way Frank?

You are right Frank. They may not want to start WW3 or shove people in gas chambers, but one in every 100,000 of them wants to raise their children in a gender non-specific way. We've got to stop them before it's too late!!

Have you ever heard such a ridiculous thing?

As the author says....

"The fact is that for more than three decades, Left-wing ideologues have been determinedly unravelling sexual and gender differences — on the grounds that the very idea that people are different amounts to a kind of prejudice.

Bizarre as it may seem, what started as a campaign for equal rights progressed into a movement to abolish altogether the differences between men and women.

This movement consisted of an alliance between, on the one hand, radical feminists who were consumed by hatred of men and, on the other, gay activists intent upon blurring the distinction between hetero-sexual and same-sex unions."

Yes Frank I've heard even more ridiculous stories. They're usually printed in the Daily Mail and written by Melanie 'Mad Mel' Philips.

Look at the difference in standard between the sh*te Melanie Phillips plops out for a living and a newspaper atleast trying to be neutral:

-
Couple raise child as 'gender neutral' to avoid stereotyping

"I don't think I'd do it if I thought it was going to make him unhappy, but at the moment he's not really bothered either way. We haven't had any difficult scenarios yet."

[...] "I just want him to fulfil his potential, and I wouldn't push him in any direction. As long as he has good relationships and good friends, then nothing else matters does it?

Mr Cooper, a computer software designer, said his son likes to play with Lego and dolls.

He said: "We wanted to challenge gender stereotypes and so if Sasha wants to dress up in girls' clothes then so be it. But we are not forcing it.

Yes I do think that boys should be raised as boys and girls as girls..so yes I do think they should be raised in a certain way.

I agree with Melanie Phillips, she's right, and ruffles the feathers of a few, which is hugely enjoyable to read...:D

That wasn't my question. I asked if people should be forced to raise their children in a certain way? I don't want to raise a child who likes fighting with swords and guns, but equally I wouldn't stop anyone else making their own choices.

I don't. I just like balanced argument. Melanie Phillips is a bad journalist.
