Tapas bars/Spanish restaurants

Cubana! Food is ace, atmosphere brilliant, service excellent (I am a bit biased as my ex owns it but it really is great :)).

I went to Cubana a few years ago one Fri night with a group from work. They attempted to charge us for dishes we didn't order. I think the staff were trying it on as they obviously thought we were a typical drunken group not sufficiently on the ball due to the loud music, dancing and general fun atmosphere. We weren't. I felt robbed and I've never been back since.

I've been to El Toro for coffees in the daytime a few times and like the place. I will go for food one night soon.

I like Platillos in Leopold Square. The service can vary a bit, sometimes attentive and fast, other times a bit absent, but the food is great and there's a good atmosphere as well. I went to Cubana once, intending to eat, but didn't like it in there. I thought it wasn't a very nice atmosphere and the staff were a bit dismissive, so didn't stay for food. I haven't been to La Mama yet but heard good things about it. Also, although it's a slightly odd version of tapas, I think that The Wick at Both Ends on West Street is great
