Goddess
Hi, I've been searching the forums but the discussions are a few years old. Can anyone recommend a tapas bar or good Spanish restaurant in Sheffield please? Thank you
MazR
Cubana! Food is ace, atmosphere brilliant, service excellent (I am a bit biased as my ex owns it but it really is great ).

No-Fi
I enjoy La Mama on Abbeydale rd. Always great tapas and atmosphere. Nice to see they won an award last year too.
Bilge
Cubana! Food is ace, atmosphere brilliant, service excellent (I am a bit biased as my ex owns it but it really is great ). I went to Cubana a few years ago one Fri night with a group from work. They attempted to charge us for dishes we didn't order. I think the staff were trying it on as they obviously thought we were a typical drunken group not sufficiently on the ball due to the loud music, dancing and general fun atmosphere. We weren't. I felt robbed and I've never been back since. I've been to El Toro for coffees in the daytime a few times and like the place. I will go for food one night soon. libuse
I like Platillos in Leopold Square. The service can vary a bit, sometimes attentive and fast, other times a bit absent, but the food is great and there's a good atmosphere as well. I went to Cubana once, intending to eat, but didn't like it in there. I thought it wasn't a very nice atmosphere and the staff were a bit dismissive, so didn't stay for food. I haven't been to La Mama yet but heard good things about it. Also, although it's a slightly odd version of tapas, I think that The Wick at Both Ends on West Street is great
Goddess
Thank you! The information is pretty similar to what I've seen recommended before so I will have a look at their websites and try one :-)
