tinfoilhat
I think news readers should be pretty. Ok, some do interviews where they have to think quickly but the rest of the time it's reading of an autoque. And think of the ugly people. If I stared at someone who looked like Natasha kaplinski for 20 minutes in real life I'd get at best a restraining order and worst arrested. If I wanted to look at an ugly old boot do the news I'd listen to the radio and look in a mirror
Rupert_Baehr
" ... the rest of the time it's reading of an autoque ..." So should they be able to read as well, or is that an optional extra?
tinfoilhat
I never said "just" pretty. Its part of a skill set that includes reading. The BBC female newsreaders also have the ability to raise their eyebrows to suggest what they've just read/heard is cowpoo, whether it is or not. I find that quite annoying.
