On the other hand, I had a peugeot 406 from new and did 140,000 miles in it. Nothing ever went wrong with it, nothing ever fell off it and it always started first time. Apart from normal wear and tear it was a fantastic car. I've had no experience of other peugeots however, but I wouldn't avoid them like the plague! I personally also recommend Renaults, although as far as French cars go I don't recommend citroens.

Our 305 was on it's 3rd time round clock and it sailed through 5 tests and never once broke down despite it being 1988 model. The only reason we had to get wid of it was because while OH was parked at red traffic light the numpty who drove up behind him was colour blind:hihi::hihi: and his insurance company wouldn't pay for extensive damage so wrote it off. We were gutted:roll::roll:

Needs to be a small, family car - 5 door, less than 3 years old, low mileage (<20k)

Current shortlist is (as per poll):

VW Polo (would love a Golf but dont think we could get one within budget)

Renault Clio

Ford Fiesta (Zetec?)

If you select 'Other' please let us know what you'd go for!

Thanks!!

Honda Accord / Civic / Toyaota Corrolla would be perfect for you all, not too big or too small, very practical, easy to drive and by far the most reliable cars ever - definitley mans' best friend when it comes to motors, no hassle and will will never let you down, so solidlily built they're practically bomb proof!

Look at the cars taxi drivers use, they are not stupid and nearly all of'em use Japanese cars such as Hondas, Toyotas etc
