Scozzie
Yeah but I find it very odd when people start wishing people happy 'x' day when they are in no way associated with 'x'. Like Chinese new year the other day. Like are you just trying to sound cultured because you know it's Australia day or what? I hope I know enough about my country's culture to know this is Australia Day! Yes, it is a bank holiday in Australia and all my friends have been having bbqs, going camping and going to the beach (bbqing prawns and chicken, hopefully not Julias). I have taken tomorrow off work so I can go to the eerrrrrr - Walkie tonight and drink many Bundy and cokes. whooop. I love a sunburnt country. We are young and free.

Rich
Isn't 'Australia Day' called 'Thanksgiving Day' in the UK? Nope, Thanksgiving is an American event which happens around the end of November, involving the consuming of Turkey apparently.
