Emma_Graham
Hi just bought a honda accord the bonnet was lifted yesterday when i viewed it but got it home today and noticed it looked as though it was popped up so i tried to lift the bonnet to slam it shut but it wouldn't open after messing for ages. Then i tried to put all my weight on it to lock it but still nothing. My bloke has just come home and tried everything i have been messing for ages and still don't know. Anyone else had any problems? Could the catch be broken?
RootsBooster
Did you buy it private or from a dealer?

RootsBooster
From a dealer, thought i'd ask on here first tho before going back to them Well, you're better off taking it straight back to them, by messing with it you might make it worse and they might use that to pass the blame on to you. Don't forget that you have statutory rights regardless of whether or not the vehicle came with a warranty.
Frank Sidney
try adjusting the rubber bobins either side of the bonnet if not that then unloosen the latch then move it up a little then tighten up and test repeat again untill it locks http://www.fixya.com/cars/t3737784-bonnet_honda_civic_not_close_lock Try pushing in the cable where the latch broke. It's stuck in the pulled position. You could drive that way because you still have one latch left to hold the hood closed but only temporarily.Good luck and hope this helps. http://www.fixya.com/cars/t3737784-bonnet_honda_civic_not_close_lock

Muldoon
Why are you attempting to devoid your warranty and statutory rights by interfering with your car :loopy: are you insane ?? call the dealer and explain the problem and let them deal with it. If you dont ask the dealer, you get nothing. If you ask the righteous self confessed experts on here, you are going to get laughed at. ha ha ha See ?
